Hello and Happy Tuesday!
The moderate temperatures sans humidity continue here in the South Hills of Pittsburgh… I am hoping these days stick around but the forecast tells me that is not likely, sigh.
I did make process on the windows with their delightful little window boxes this week. I have one top window to go and then I think I will finish the stitching above these windows before heading down to the bottom windows, the door, and the blossom filled tree. There are still miles to go on this project, but even if I can only snag a scant 15 minutes to work on it in a day… I make progress!

The spot with a clear line of sight of our bird feeders…
This week, we have had a visitor that has unsettled all the other birds. This Red-tailed Hawk has been a very regular visitor this week. He fears neither me nor Steve. He is quite content to engage in a bit of a “stare down” with us. The other birds complain rather loudly about his presence. I have told him that I am happy for him to take any of the starlings he’d so desire… but please leave our Cardinal pair alone!
I also treated myself to a window feeder last weekend… I am eagerly awaiting the birds finding it!
Happy stitch-y Tuesday everyone! See you back here tomorrow!

It’s funny — every since you posted about this stitching project, I’ve been getting Instagram ads for it! Your windows are looking so charming.
We’ve got a few hawks in our neighborhood as well. I wish they’d help to keep down the bunny population!
Your stitching looks lovely this week! Hawks are beautiful but they do make the other birds wary (and rightfully so). Justin got me a window feeder for Christmas and the birds turned up their beaks at regular seed. I had some unsalted sunflower seeds (the dehulled kernels) that I filled it with and now they clean it out in a couple of days. I’m all out of seeds so I better go get some more before they start knocking on the window!
Nice progress on your stitching Kat. This is really such a pretty piece – I love all the colors in it.
Great photo of your red tailed hawk. We have them around and years ago there was one who would fly down and sit on our picnic table. I was always worried about Maestro, our cat at the time.
The temps are beginning to rise, but today looks to still be pretty nice (albeit a tad warmer).
Your window piece is absolutely charming, Kat. Such a gorgeous piece of whimsy! I love seeing it come to life. XO But your hawk photo! SO NICE! We have several hawks (of many types) in our neighborhood — and often sitting right on our fenceposts. Luckily, we also have a lot of cover for our other bird and small animal friends. I think his “lunches” come mostly from the open field/wetlands across the road. (Your photo is really awesome, Kat.)
Love your stitching! We haven’t had a Red Tailed hawk lately. They used to hang around across the street or in our yard looking for their next meal.
Beautiful stitching!! I am so close to finishing my cross stitch project! What a shot of that bird, so regal!!
What sweet little windows and window boxes. The fabric is beautiful. A few stitches a day is progress. We have a Cooper’s Hawk that frequents our neighborhood. The hawks are majestic birds. Around here the blue jays screech fiercely to warn the smaller songbirds. I wish they would prey on the squirrels but they squirrels are too fast and often too big.
A red-tailed hawk was perched atop a sign near the mailboxes @ work the other day, and he swooped away as I approached — I have seen plenty of them before, but never that close and OMG, HUGE!!
