Greetings Unraveler’s and Happy Wednesday!
It has been a very, very slow week of making for me this week. I have barely knit a stitch in anything. I know… what the heck? My making mojo seems to be all sorts of no-jo.
I am sharing photo proof of my lack of knitting. The baby sleeves are still not finished which means I am no closer to attaching them this week than I was last week. (Although, at this time of writing my plan is to see if I can’t get them a bit further along during the Read With Us Zoom… )
The reading though… mmmm, delightful. Last week, I shared how much I loved The Place of Tides… well, the lure of reading the book again was so strong, I gave in and read it again (Pro tip… it was even better the second time through!) Once I finished the reread, I settled in with (and finished) Hunter’s Heart Ridge (which I really loved) and yesterday I started Is a River Alive. Sometimes the best thing ever is to lose yourself in a good book and I am not a person capable of reading a book and doing something else… so you can see the reason for my lack of making this week.
What about you? What have you lost yourself in this week? I am eager to know!
As always, if you wrote a post to share this week please leave your link below and thank you!

I’m with you Kat – I can’t read a book and do something else. So, I understand how you have fallen into the reading “trap” – LOL. Not a bad thing to have happen. And at least the sleeves you are working on are short! The Place of Tides is on my TBR list – I’m not going to request it just yet since I already have about 12 books in queue at my library and they seem to be coming in faster than I can read them!
Sometimes the reading it too good and it has to take precedence over the knitting! I am waiting for my library to get The Place of Tides (at least on Libby; I haven’t checked to see if they have hard copies). But there are plenty of good books to read in the meantime! I just started A Guardian and a Thief, which is on the NBA long list for fiction, and it’s really good! I’m hoping to have a good chunk of time to get into it later today.
What a delightful pink!!! I am still on the last grandchild’s sweater but on the sleeves so nearly done. I haven’t been reading much this week but hopefully will be later on today!
Cute sleeves, Kat. And you’ll finish them . . . because the mojo will return. Interesting books seem to be everywhere these days! So much to read; so many books to choose from!
I’m so disappointed; none of my libraries has Place of Tides. Maybe I’ll need to buy a copy. But I’m glad you had such a good reading week. Sometimes you need that, especially after knitting the blankets. I’m sure you’ll get back to the sweaters when the time is right. I lost myself in rainbows last week and this week is looking much the same. Even before that guy talked about moving the covid vaccine age, I had an appointment for my covid and flu shots yesterday, and now I’m even more glad that I got them!
The knitting mojo will return, as it always has before. Embrace the good reading for now and be patient!
The very idea of a chilly grandbaby will motivate you to finish that sweater — I have no doubt!!
Good reading is a nice place, especially these days. Losing oneself in a book means you’ve escaped the news cycle, at least for a few minutes. Those wee little sleeves are so sweet but I can imagine that small circumference is a little fiddly. All in good time.
