Greetings Gentle Unravelers (and congratulations to surviving the umpteenth rapture of my lifetime!!)

Modest differences in the sheep of these two sweaters!
I am happy to report that the Knitting Enui has lifted and I have finished Welcome To the Flock #2! Now I need to pull out my nana’s button box and find some special buttons for these sweater! I love this connection… sweaters made today that will have buttons from long ago! Most appropriate indeed! (Once buttons are on, I will weave in the plethora of ends and give them a quick wash before sending them on to my son and daughter in law!)
As you can see in the header photo, I started a “just a few minutes to knit” project… my Hairst Hap Hood! The front “section” is finished and I have begun the back. It is amazing how quickly this is coming along by just picking it up a couple of times a day! I don’t think the “hood” portion will be as simple to knit… but you never know!
I did get patterns traced off but still have to pin them out… my excuse, Frankie… 100% Ha! But, I feel that the pinning and cutting will be done later this morning!
But what I am most looking forward to this week is class on Friday with Cecelia Campochiaro. Her Reversible Knitting book is the topic and she has a recipe for a wrap from one of the reversible cable patterns. I am excited to spend some time with her as she talks about her book and knitting!
The reading continues to be most excellent! I am still working through Robert Macfarlane’s Is A River Alive… slowly, but it is really a perfect book to savor. It is thought provoking in the best way. In my ears… the perfect companion for accomplishing chores and tracing off patterns is the next book in the Chief Bruno series, To Kill a Troubadour. I am constantly appreciative that I am A Reader… and I wonder how do people who are not readers function?
That is all I have for today… what about you? What is making you happy this week?

What darling sweaters Kat! I’m betting you find the perfect buttons in your collection. Love the color of yarn for your Hairst Hap Hood and I can’t wait to see it completed. Your class on Friday should be excellent. I’m a tad envious! Like you, I am an avid reader and can’t understand people who don’t read and can’t imagine my life without books!
The sweaters are so sweet! I love the idea of those special buttons on them, too — it’s like love being handed down through the generations to welcome the newest members of the family.
The sweaters are darling! I love using my grandmother’s buttons, too.
I’ve read the first of the Bruno books after hearing about the series from you. I really enjoyed it!
The sweaters are adorable and will be even better with some special buttons. And your hood has interesting construction and will be just the thing for those early morning walks with Frankie (if the temperature ever cools down). I’ve often wondered how people who ! don’t read cope with the world!
LOVE the finished sweater!! so sweet. We are twinning with our grammy knits.
I just love those little sheep/ lambs. Just gorgeous and I think using old buttons is a super idea. Sure to be treasured.
Adorable sweaters. I can’t wait to see the buttons you choose. I love having a big selection of vintage buttons handy! Some are Mom’s, some are Grandma’s, some are other people’s moms’ & grandmas’!
Sometimes we just have to wait it out and then everything falls into place. All the angst that was hanging around while you knit the cardigans has disappeared – and look at them (and you) now. Smiling at the thought of an inter generational gift making its way to those cherished granddaughters.
Seeing all those lovely sheep all in a row has me itching to do some colourwork on my next child’s knit. Putting my thinking cap on
The little sweaters are darling. I too love the connection between your Nana’s button box and the new generation. The yarn in the hood is so pretty – color and texture. Enjoy your class. I heard Ms C. interviewed on the The Long Thread podcast. She sounds like an interesting women with all kinds of ideas and questions about knitting. Let us know how you find the workshop.
Those sweaters are adorable. I can’t wait to see the buttons you choose!
And I’m glad to hear that your knitting ennui has passed. Mine has, too! I finally picked up a sweater that has been lingering since July. It feels good to make progress, doesn’t it?!
