The weather people are telling us that it is supposed to be the tiniest bit cooler this week… a good thing because last week I was certain we had truly arrived at the “hell on earth” stage of existence. These scorching hot days are my least favorite thing of all… truly. We are supposed to get a bit of a break this week… fingers crossed that prediction is accurate!
I am having to rework my to do list a bit today… there won’t be any laundry on the line today (thanks to a forecast of “all day rain” with a 90+% humidity out…) So instead a day of mostly indoor tasks and if I hurry I might be able to finish Sleeve Number Two on my Airy Ranunculus! A finished sweater would be so lovely to share with you all on Wednesday!

Oh gosh! This heat seems to have sapped all of my energy and interest in doing anything! It’s hard to get motivated when one is dripping all the time. We, too, are forecast to have rain today…and most every day this week. The garden will be happy and I will be too if the temps moderate a bit. Now if only we could get rid of the humidity!! It truly was hell on earth if you ask me. I got so ‘ill’ on Fourth of July! anyways high eighties feels like a cold front lol.
That week of sweltering temperatures and oppressive humidity was exactly the reason I’m not very fond of summer. Justin and my BiL both work outside and I kept thinking about them (as I was complaining in an air-conditioned room). But today is overcast, rainy, and best of all, cooler! I wish you swift and smooth knitting on Sleeve 2!
It was a brutal few days in CT after having May and June be cooler. The unairconditioned house got up to 90 or so inside. I did have a portable air conditioner (one of those large floor models) that I drug out of the closet) but only put it on for about an hour on Friday I think. The fan was fine for me. And I slept with a fan on. It’s now 78 in the house after a stormy Saturday night and then rain yesterday and today. The house is brick so it takes a little longer to heat up but then it seems to stay hot after it breaks though the rain helped this time to cool it down.
It has been SO HOT and SO HUMID for SO LONG now . . . that my porch containers have mushrooms growing in them!!!!!! And that has never happened to my containers before. . . Even up north here in Michigan, there is no break in the hot and the humid. Although the rain has (kinda) stopped. At least for a little while. Oh, well. Here we are . . . I hope you can find some ways to keep cool and preserve your energy, Kat. XO
Weather weather everywhere. We had a bit of a break on the 4th – still plenty warm but not quite so oppressive after rain in the wee hours of the morning. I hope your indoor day goes well and it’s smooth knitting with no surprises on the sweater sleeve.
I am so over the heat! Even though we’ve had rain every day since we got to our vacation rental, I am happy that the highs haven’t broken 80. It’s so nice to be outside without feeling like I’m melting! I hope it’s more comfortable when we get home!
