I have an overly full week again which makes the weeks just race past.
I was very happy that my return visit to the mammography center last week for a recheck just revealed a benign cyst. Whew! With so many friends having medical problems, it really feels like I have some incredible luck… at least as far as my health goes!
This week, I trek back to the urogynocologist for more Fun Times!
But!! I have a couple of fun things to share with you all that I stumbled across last week.
Thing One:
Did you all know that a Poetry Longlist was recently announced? I had only heard of one book on this list, but I was thrilled that my library had so many of the books listed here. I have never been one to try and read all of the books from the plethora of long lists (or short lists, for that matter!) but I feel compelled to dip into this list of ten poetry books!
Thing Two:
I was not surprised to see Kay post about the recent PBS American Masters offering on Mary Oliver. I watched it eagerly last week and I concur entirely with Kay’s review. If you have not watched it, you should… it is so very good!
There you go… a couple of fun things for your Monday. May your lists all be easy this week! See you all back here on Wednesday!

I meant to look up the American Master’s special last night. I might go add it to my list on Passport before breakfast — just so I don’t forget.
Also – hurray for a clean(ish) mammogram.
Thanks for the link to the Poetry Long List – I had not heard about that. I’m not one to read from a list, but I’m curious to see what’s on it. Juliann cued me in to the Mary Oliver program and I watched it a couple of weeks ago – excellent! So glad your re-do on the mamma turned out good. Best of luck with your follow up with the urogyno. As you say, fun times!
So glad to hear about your all-clear mammogram! And thanks for the reminder about the Mary Oliver program. I’d gotten an email from WQED highlighting it but haven’t watched it yet. I’ll put it on the list for this week!
A good mamogram always gives me a big feeling of relief, and I’m glad that you can now be glad about yours. I’m going to check out that poetry longlist and see if I can find at least some of those books. Thank you for this list that I have never been aware of before!
I’m so glad you got the all clear on your mammogram! I have that Mary Oliver program on my watch list.
I am so so so glad your mammo was good! phew! I haven’t watched the Oliver doc yet but it’s on my list!! So many things to watch 🙂
First . . . YAY for good mammo-news. That’s always a relief. (My sister often has to go in for mammogram re-dos and ultrasounds, and every time afterward we chuckle together – and give thanks – when her results come back with the word “unremarkable.” Because who doesn’t want “unremarkable” breasts from the perspective of a mammogram????) And, second . . . I often read new and upcoming poetry collections via NetGalley. I’m often . . . disappointed, actually. Poetry is so personal. And while it’s always good to dip your toe in to new collections, I find them a little unpredictable. Still. It’s a great goal for you to check out the whole longlist — and I can’t wait to hear what you think!
