Friday was a whirl-wind day. I worked a split and had lunch with a friend whom I had not seen for far too long. Cabboy and I had lunch at the New Holland Brewery and was it good! Conversation and food were a welcome respite from an otherwise hectic day.
Later that night a big storm blew through Holland, and while we missed the brunt of the storms damage, it deposited a good amount of rain on us.
However, as I arrived home this lovely sunset was turning the sky red and this morning blue skies greeted me filled with big, fluffy clouds.
Here is hoping your weekend is just as rosy! Go out there and find something to delight in!

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ~Dr. Seuss |
As many of you know, I lost my job last December and to say it has been challenging to find replacement work is an understatement! I am fortunate, I guess, to have not one, but two part time jobs. Neither of which equal one full time job, but it is more than many have today.
Dr. Seuss’ words of wisdom are particularly needed today…there is no one alive who is ‘me-er’ than me.
Therefore I thought I would take a moment to remind myself of some things worthy of celebration… or at least sharing some distinctively (and positively) me things!
I have always been a wildly independent person; however, I have discovered that there is greater strength in the love and support of a friend when you least expect it. It is nice knowing that someone believes in you even when you cannot believe in yourself.
I have a great sense of humor, but I can honestly say that I can laugh loudest at myself.
I feel compelled to lift people up rather than tear them down. That person cheering in the underdog’s corner… it is more than likely me.
I am an early riser – I wake most mornings before 5AM without the aid of an alarm clock. I have been this way for almost my whole life. Perhaps this is why morning is my favorite time of the day.
I think differently than other people, very differently. Most days, that is a very good thing and as for the days it is not a good thing, here is to them ending just as quickly as they began!
Therefore, as the “unofficial” start of summer begins this weekend with the arrival of Memorial Day, I would ask you to leave me a comment of some things that are incredibly you! Teach me something newer than new about you!
Have a great weekend everyone!

After one long day, this was the treat waiting for me when I arrived home. This ending makes the day not seem quite so long. Here is to the weekend and it being as long as today seemed – and filled with more treats as nice as this!

Hello Everyone! Well, here we are starting out the 11th month on an interesting note. Last year I was part of Noro-vember. I love knitting with Noro so much, I have pulled out some from my stash and will most certainly cast on a few things and knit to my hearts content.
I got a couple of skeins of Kureyon from a secret pal some time back – and I think I am going to knit myself a pair of socks from them. A quick, easy knit and just in time for cold weather – so they will keep my toesies warm! I also have some holiday knitting that I want to work on. It will be a Noro-bember-ly delicious month!
So, the challenge for me this month is to have good content for NaBloPoMo – do I think I can do it? Well, I will certainly give it a good try!
Things coming up for me this month – a plying class the weekend of the 17th. I am eagerly awaiting this class. EAGERLY!! My wheel has become a much loved item in my home. It is on the list for “If there was a fire, what would I take…. ” What was I thinking, resisting the spinning bug for so long???? Sheer craziness I tell you.
Last knit there was some Knitting with Grey’s though… I do enjoy that show. Thursday nights are a good knit night – I did not get to my normal Knit Nite – Heidi and Sam both have some major tests at school today so there was lots of “quizzing” going on here last night. This is, at times, a humbling experience…. sometimes I am amazed at how much I remember from school… other times, like last night – my brain is struggling with the “I am sure I never had this in high school” syndrome. Yeah, last night I would not have disagreed with my kids had they said – “oh mom, you don’t know anything”. Not that they ever say that outloud… but, you know they are soooo thinking it!
Well… I had better get moving. Have a good day all… catch you tomorrow!
