It is a sad state of affairs that in the past year I have purchased little or no new yarn with which to knit.
Seriously…
No. New. Yarn.
I have been progressively knitting through my stash and as 2009 draws to a close, and I still have yarn to make choices from!
This fact has astounded even me…and has made me feel incredibly materialistic and not in a good way at all. I have enough sock yarn to knit socks for an army of feet and if I were to knit one pair in a week, I would be able to knit socks for the entire year of 2010. Yes – that means I have at least 52 skeins of sock yarn, or pretty darn close!
Oy.
Not a thing to be proud of, to be sure!

And start all over again.
After yesterday’s recap of the that year that was, I thought it would be a good idea to get right back on the proverbial horse, as it were.
A New Year gives one the opportunity to “start all over again” and that is not a bad thing at all, Gentle Reader.
However, where does one begin when one starts over?
Perhaps the key lies in the phrase “work like a soul inspired”…
Work – yes…
But was it “like a soul inspired”…
Maybe not.
Therefore, I am declaring 2010 to be the Year of Finding Inspiration!
No more working without an inspired soul.
Lest you should think, Gentle Reader, that I am without inspiration – I can assure you I am not.

Hello and welcome to the new home of As Kat Knits!
First off, I need to thank Steve for all his help and his willingness to spend a couple of hours on his weekend tweaking this place to my preferences and answering my questions without complaining once – and I had plenty of tweaking and questions!
As you can see, he is a genius when it comes to web development and beyond that is the best friend a person could ever have.
You will find things here that were not on my old digs, and you will find some things that were there – but all are improvements, in my opinion. First off, you will note that my preferred reading now has its own page! Watch for updates to that page as I finish importing your blog links. If you want your link added, please let me know!
So, get a cup of coffee, look around, and please do not forget to update your rss feeds with my new address!
