December seems to be starting off quite nicely, especially weather wise… as crazy as this will sound, we have had glorious sunny days all weekend (and most of last week!) with temps well into the 50’s! This mild weather seems quite surreal and it is such a treat to have the windows open to let in the fresh air! I know that winter will soon return and with it cold temps, but I am enjoying this weather right now tremendously!
The weekend was productive, there was some Swedish Death Cleaning, some reading, a tiny bit of knitting, and some football watching.
There was also a bit of Christmas decorating, which is modest this year in comparison to years past. It feels right though, and while I have just a couple more things I might get out, this scaled back decorating is a welcome change. Decorating with a thought to having to un-decorate it all in January seems a better use of precious time.
My list today is not too horrendous, but a big thing on my list this week (and for the next 3 weeks) is to work on some plans for 2018! I know, it seems so adult of me! LOL But, I think that spending some time plotting out what I’d like the year to bring is a wise move and it might bring a more productive year. We shall see!
And, so this Monday is starting out quite nicely, here is to a wonderful week for us all!
I super scaled-back my decorating last year, and it was perfect. I’m doing the same this year. Just the things I love. And plenty of candles and lights! (And – gasp – no tree. . .) Happy Monday, Kat.
The weather has indeed been strange here, too. It was warm enough this weekend that I was sweating while dealing with Brussels sprouts and leaves, but we have freezing fog this morning. And look at you planning for 2018! I’m okay at planning my day, but after that my “best-laid plans of mice and (wo)men often go awry”.
Bright blue skies are simply energizing! I’m really enjoying December so far (and scaled back my decorating too … for some of those same reasons!)
We are scaling back on decorations this year to reduce the number of times we need to say don’t touch to our tiny person who is very much on the go. I am planning for 2018 too. I need to look ahead. Enjoy that lovely blue sky.
I had big plans for decorating but then ended up leaving town for some time in PA so…I hope three people at home at least decorated the tree…I have too much work to do anyway.
We are decorating a bit differently here in the new place. Still very festive but not dragging every little thing out! and we are decorating a bit at a time which is different for us too. WE put lights on outside early. We have one little tree up and lit inside the front door.
Your lists and goals are amazing. I believe that is why you get so much done.
Maintaining my weight loss in an ongoing goal for 2018. So far so good. It is difficult but becoming more of a lifestyle and less of a I CANT have that thing.
I put as many lights around my house as I could. Getting through the next two months of dark is the goal. We have snow this morning and I don’t doubt there’s storm heading your way. Enjoy that blue sky!
It has been so nice to see the sun for most of the past week. I can deal with winter better if I at least have sun!
I think I may take a page from your book and try to plan out my 2018 as far as my designing goes. Most of the time I just kind of go with what feels right or most exciting at the time, but I think I could be more strategic.
About two years ago I changed up my decorating. I still do LOADS of lights but I gave Hannah most of my snow man collection and I keep things simple and I love it. Enjoy your planning time!
I have also simplified the decorating. It is not my favorite thing so I do less of it. I haven’t thought too much about 2018 yet. This week I have been setting some intentions for this holiday season. Still thinking. . .
I have just started planning out January (more exercising?) but first I have my family descending on next Tuesday in spurts. It’s going to get crazy busy before it calms down.
We had a decidedly abrubt change in the weather this week! Brrr. It’s definitely more seasonal.
