What do you do to get ready for summer? What says summer to you – music, food, clothes, activities, you name it…
Living in West Michigan where the Days of Summer are definitely numbered you will find most of the population here living each summery moment to its fullest. Moreover, with stats like this you can see why:
Almost half of Michigan is comprised of water and, except for Alaska, Michigan has more shoreline than any other state, fronting four of the Great Lakes: Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie. With 3,177 miles of Great Lakes shoreline it is easy to see why Michigan boasts a thriving recreational industry, and leads the nation with approximately one million registered pleasure boats.
However, what is a girl to do when she is not counted in the one million registered boaters?

It has been a crazy week here at Casa del KatKnits and the weeks end found me needing more than a little therapy.
I found it in the dirt.
Potting soil, that is.
My garden is all set to grow, I have sprinkled a little fertilizer, baptized them all with a goodly sum of water, and they are now soaking up the sun.
Now I am off to scrub under my finger nails… and a much needed fresh start to a new week.

Tulip Festival is looming here in Holland, Michigan. However, the tulips are waning….these beauties will be done soon.

It seems spring had definitely sprung here in my little corner of the world. This is the Crab Apple tree in my front yard, here in bloom for a fleeting moment, so I captured it in all its glory for posterity.
