Outside the birds are a cacophony of song, grass is greening and growing, and in my garden the rhubarb, raspberries, and chives are poking their little green heads through the rich black soil.
And today, it is gloriously grey outside, with promises of rain which will give everything a gentle washing and a much-needed soak.
It made me think of how much I love springtime at Van Raalte Farm in Holland, Michigan. 160 acres of land and miles and miles of walking trails make for the perfect place to immerse yourself in spring. It is beautiful to walk in every season, but especially spectacular in the spring. If you are nearby, you should definitely go – you won’t be disappointed!
Irises. And Tulips. Poking out through my mulch. Yay!!!
This is our third day of record high temps., and with our rain arriving tonight I’m sure the landscape will soon look as bright and verdant as your incredible photos. Thanks for the lovely reminder of all the sprouting, budding, and blooming just around the corner!
Possibly an odd question, but are your comments having some sort of problem with the letter “i”? I proofread this comment twice, but I’m betting all the “i”s are missing when displayed. Interesting!
Fixed! It was a plugin issue. Thank you!
Those photos are awesome. And just look at all those turkeys doing their spring time strut!
Turkeys!
Oh, my goodness! I have walked Van Raalte Farm many times! I’ve also cross-country skied there — and there’s a pretty fabulous sledding hill we used to visit when my kids were young. So fun to see it pop up on your blog! (My parents live in Holland.)
Holland MI…it’s been decades since I was there. Love the intro photo, esp. Spring is always just so special, so special. BTW: cherry blossoms may bloom as early as Mar 18; I bet before.
Cheers~
