This week’s Think Write Thursday is to write a post called, “Hello, April.”
Here cometh April again, and as far as I can see the world hath more fools in it than ever. – Charles Lamb
Thank you, Charles Lamb, for providing me with the most appropriate quote ever to welcome April.
So, April starts with the Day for Fools, on which I, appropriately, am going to get my mammogram done.
Steve’s birthday is the second – and of course I am still frantically trying to finish socks for him. Thankfully, he loves me whether I finish the socks or not.
April 2 is also World Autism Awareness Day.
April 6 is National Tartan Day! Who knew!!
My sister has a birthday on the 11th.
Easter is in the middle of the month, so you still have some time to get your bonnet ready!
The 16th is Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia and the 17th is Patriot’s Day in Maine and Massachusetts!
April 17 is also the day I get my colonoscopy….
Tax Day is April 18 this year and in case you have not started yours yet – this is your warning to get started!!
And, April 27 is Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day!
So much April joy, I can barely contain myself!
If you would like to see what others had to say to April, you will find them here. And, if you would like to join Carole and me in this Think Write Thursday journey, you can sign up here.
Love the quote at the top Kat – it is perfect! And, not that the procedures themselves bring joy, but I’m glad you have your mammogram and colonoscopy scheduled – you are taking care of business!
Excellent quote and good for you for scheduling your procedures! I don’t mind mammograms at all (it’s just some momentary pressure) but I confess that the colonoscopy does not inspire any joy (at all). Don’t forget to celebrate Arbor Day on the 28th! 🙂
My you do have a lot going on! Good luck with your mammogram, and I hope your colonoscopy prep is not too terrible (why is it with modern medicine, they have no way to make that more bearable???).
Enjoy all the good stuff, in any event. 🙂
And April 22 is both Earth Day and the March for Science.
You’ve got a busy month ahead of you!
1. I refuse to wear a bonnet on Easter. Or any other day.
b. Happy colonoscopy! I hope it is totally boring and normal.
III. I really do need to get started (and finished!) with our income taxes. Been too busy doing other people’s returns.
You have a lot of things to do in April, but it’s a wonderful month of sun, new growth, and lots of lovely light! Enjoy your celebrations and I hope all goes well with the medical tests.
Haha. I have two cousins with April Fool’s Day birthdays! And not only my three girls, but also an aunt, an uncle, a nephew, and a grandfather!
Best of luck with those tests. 😉
I cannot believe it’s almost April already — I still don’t think I’ve gotten used to it being March! At least with the coming of April we can be reasonably certain that spring has arrived (we won’t speak about the April snow we had last year).
Great quote!
I am so ready – and not – for April. Love the CL quote and great for you to get all those nuisance tests out of the way!
Hello April!
(playing catchup – I wouldn’t let myself read your April posts until I’d written my own … so yeah, it’s Sunday 🙂) and wow, your April is kind of fraught with landmines (yikes! the medical testing scheduling gods had a thing for you?!) Thank goodness we have Michelle’s class. and a really good sense of humor. and cocktails.
