Greetings Unravelers and Happy Wednesday!
Today is all about catching up with my knitting, which will be especially welcome after doing grocery shopping, laundry, and cooking yesterday! That is after a long walk and some Pilates – vacations are great for lots of things, but diets? Not so much! Haha!
Very little knitting has happened since last week – although the sock has grown the tiniest bit. One would think in an 8 hour+ car ride I would have MUCH more done. However, the lack of knitting has something to do with a huge traffic jam on the turn pike and a comment about how I could be knitting while someone was so miserable (as if I was not equally miserable in said traffic jam) but there you have it – no knitting on the sock!
However, today I am back to turning this stack of squares into a blanket and with some focused attention, I hope to have both blankets done by this time next week! Although, I have a “training” next Monday because I am going to be an Election Worker in November in my precinct – so maybe a Friday finish is a better guess!
My reading has been so slow, but I should be done listening to Reservoir 13 today. And, the night-time reading has me almost done with The Thing About December as I have less than a third of the book to go.
Hopefully, reading kicks into high gear because I have a bunch of things that just came off hold!
Inspire me, Unravelers… what are you making this week?! And, if you have a post to share, please leave your link below.

Sometimes . . . a tiny break is good for the soul! Now that you’re home and settling back in to “regular life,” you’ll find new life in ALL your projects. XO
Methinks Steve needs to learn that knitters are much calmer people if they’re allowed to knit during stressful times. 😉
I am very excited to see the finished blankets and also happy to hear that you’re going to help out at the polls! I am trying my hardest to finish up my daughter’s sweater this week. I started the first sleeve last night and got about halfway done.
Enjoy your knitting day!
Welcome back! Enjoy getting back into the swing of things (gosh I hate those traffic jams). Updates are on my blog.
The color of that yarn is fabulous! Is that Zauberball?
That is PERFECT October sock colors!
I do love that sock yarn, and hope you get some time this week for some calm knitting without traffic and misery. Sending you lots of good seaming and edging thoughts, along with a big hooray for being an election worker!
The sock yarn is lovely and you’ll be amazed at how easily you’ll resume the “ol familiar routines!”
Have fun working the election. here’s praying the results are better than this time 2 years ago!
And you didn’t stab him with your knitting needles after he made that comment? You showed great restraint. I have finished True Colors!!! Woot! And then I knit a Baa-ble Hat as a palate cleanser.
Your sock is very pretty. I am making some little baby hats for Warm Up America. It’s fun to make something for strangers. The little hats are so cute.
I can’t help but laugh that you can’t knit because the driver’s unhappy! I don’t know if I could have been so accommodating. A lovely sock, the yarn looks really soft. 🙂
my knitting and reading have been slow … but I have high hopes for turning both around today!
I have to be completely relaxed in a car to knit, if I feel anxious or excited, forget it. My knitting has been repetitive and I’m ready for something different on the needles.
