This week, my things are a few links that made me stop and look!

NPR shared Tayari Jones favorite books of 2018…
This morning SwissMiss shared this… which made me stop and think, especially at this suggestion, “Next time I book a trip I might book it around a library I want to see.” Umm… YES! That! And, so I had to Google libraries to visit, which brought up these interesting lists:
- 25 Most Famous Libraries of the World
- The Best Libraries in the World
- The 12 Most Popular Libraries in the World
- 62 of the World’s Most Beautiful Libraries
So many libraries….so little time! But, really? I hope you are visiting your local library – often!
Want to see more lists? Head on over to Carole’s!
P.S. Sprite Writes still has openings for her Virtual Advent Tour!
Oh that Quince quarterlyis so tempting!
I’ve never thought about planning a trip around visiting a library, but I do visit the local library almost every place we go. It’s a great thing – John can fish and enjoy himself, and I can enjoy myself and read in a nice library. I’m thrilled that the library in MD is within walking distance!
Well hey, I’ve actually read one of those best books! And I have two of them in my queue!
Some of those libraries are so gorgeous!! I’ve never thought of planning a trip around a library, but I do sometimes visit them when we are in different places.
I am happy to say, we have really GOOD libraries around us. I make sure to visit them often. 😉
Oh I have to share this list with my daughter Al. She is getting her masters in library science.
Wow! Quince Quarterly sold out FAST! I also missed out on Martina’s Strichmich club. Bummer…
Boston Public Library is a really fascinating and beautiful place. Just sayin.
Ooooo! A library tour would be awesome! (My daughter had “library” as one of the major categories to assess in choosing her college. She did rule out some places JUST because she thought the library . . . sucked. We saw some amazing liberal arts college libraries, let me tell you!) XO
I should do a library trip–I’ve done a pipe organ trip with my dad (he’s an organist).
A library trip-interesting. I’ve been inside the NY public library in Manhattan a couple times, but I’ve never really soaked it in-maybe on the next trip. The library was a true refuge for me as a kid.
Oh I would love a library trip. We are fortunate to have a great library system here in Lincoln. I visit often.
No matter where we travel, we almost always check out the local library. My co-workers think we’re nuts, but we learn about the area from reading the paper, seeing what’s posted on the bulletin boards & of course, chatting w the staff.
Just now got back from the library, picked up the new Val McDermid mystery Broken Ground.
oh GREAT lists! …sadly my library hasn’t even heard of Meet Behind Mars 🙁
What a great idea! (And Carole is right about BPL…) I always go into grand hotels that are near when I’m visiting places. The history is always fascinating the the lobbies are generally astounding!
Salt Lake City has a beautiful library. It has a garden on the roof (including bees) and a rounded facia. It’s quite unique.
