It’s a Marshmallow World

It’s a Marshmallow World

The marshmallows are done, bring on the Christmas!

Because…

There is nothing better than homemade marshmallows atop a warm cup of chocolate on Christmas morning.

Happy Christmas, Gentle Reader!

On the Monday before Christmas

On the Monday before Christmas

Monday’s arrival was inevitable despite a weekend of fun that included seeing the new Star Wars movie (which, by the way, was fantastic), mailing packages off to the kids for Christmas, doing a bit of shopping, and warping my loom for a new weaving project.

The weekend also included some delicious Roasted Poblano Corn Chowder. So good and easy, made even better by the use of ingredients I preserved!

My list for today includes things from the mundane task of laundry to the making a new (and exotic) chicken recipe for dinner, with a bit of weaving and some knitting thrown in for good measure.

Hope your Monday is painless!

When You Need a Weekend from Your Weekend

When You Need a Weekend from Your Weekend

This time of year brings lots of increased activity, especially on the weekends, so normal weekend tasks go right out the window. I don’t mind the activity, but a jam-packed weekend makes  for a Monday that is more unpalatable than usual.

This weekend was one that will make Monday a challenge. All. Day. Long.

And, since most of the “regular weekend tasks” were largely ignored, I am starting today with a to-do list that is monumental. Queue the super-grande coffee with an extra dose of caffeine and some Christmas music turned up loud to get this Monday started!

But, before I jump head first in to Monday, here is all the fun that the weekend was!

Right Now

Right Now

Despite having avoided the masses yesterday for Black Friday, we headed out to the Target Boutique bright and early this morning.

Why?

Because, not every strand of Christmas lights ever works correctly from year to year. The Grinch must come and tinker with things after you’ve put them away. This phenomenon occurs every year, without fail!

Once we were finished since there were astonishingly few people out, successive stops were made at numerous places, not limited to, but including IKEA, Spool, and Fat Heads.

Back at home, light adornment of the tree continues.

Twenty quarts of turkey stock is being made while light adornment happens.

Leftovers from Fat Heads just might be happening for dinner. With a beer, or two, or possibly three because Michigan lost to Ohio State, so I have some sorrows to drown!

I hope your weekend is everything you hope for and more!
