There is a part of me that is entirely ready for the neighborhood kids to all be back in school… really.badly. However, that will mean that summer is ending. Yeah, the inner debate is most interesting, let me tell you! Ha!
BUT!!! I am so excited to do a little test run of the Endless Summer Tunic! I have a MUCH too large Dress No. 3 that will work perfectly, and this brings me to the bottom of my re-purpose stack! I traced the pattern out yesterday and plan to do some cutting this morning! All this sewing has really made clear that I need to do some re-ordering of my “craft office” … I need a space for the sewing machine to live where it is easy to access, but not in the way. I have been mulling this over in my mind all week so if there is any rain at all this weekend, operation craft room reorganization will be underway!
I also have this insane urge to cast on all the things… really, every day there is something new on Ravelry that catches my eye. AND, Kym taunted me yesterday with her start of Tegna…But, I am determined to ignore this urge and knit faster on Rock the Lobster! I now have about 3 inches to go before the ribbing and then the STEEK!! And, I want to thank you all for the GREAT zipper tutorials!
So, how about you? Are you craving a new knit? Here are some links to tempt you!
Stop the presses – have you all seen the Autumn Issue of Pom Pom Quarterly? I especially love Sky Map – the stitching possibilities!
Have you seen this gorgeous cowl by Erica Mercer knit with my friend Carla’s CJKoho Designs yarn!
Eddy Hat and Cowl the “lite” version of The Eddy Sweater/Wrap
Sweater season is fast approaching: St Catherines and Lambert both caught my eye!
And, finally… a new take on a knitted beverage accessory: Dreieck (and it is free!)
And, that’s a wrap for this week…my list today also includes the utilization of some of the Basil from the Basil Jungle in a libation for Happy Hour tonight. I will let you know how it turns out on Monday! Have an awesome weekend!
Wow, I took off on the “Dreieck” pattern and then it’s website, then on and on to all those( free!) short-row patterns.
The Pom-Pom has always been a favorite of mine, there are surprises and patterns all the time that I totally wish for. And this one with the moon, such a great view for the new issue.
So, it is, that urge to cast-on goes on and on also!
I think I’ll not look at Ravelry for a bit…will explain why, later, in a post. I can appreciate all the eye-candy and longing…so many possibilities, so little time…
I Trust you’ll get a chance to do some reorganizing this weekend: a renovated craft space truly does reenergize one’s creative soul!
I’ve seen a few of the pieces from Pom Pom Quarterly pop up on IG over the past couple of weeks and they are AMAZING!!
I am with you COMPLETELY on the need for a craft room overhaul! Oh, time…
Have a great weekend, Kat!
I am dying for a new knit!!! however, I am focusing on finishing one project before the cast on. Let’s hope it’s soon. I am so over and done with summer and would love a cool fall day.
After this summer – and my back-and-forth-to-the-cottage business – my craft room looks like a bomb went off. (Well. Maybe it always does. But right now it seems particularly bad, and I’m blaming the back-and-forth!) I am very ready for some good ORGANIZATION in there!!! 🙂
Have a great weekend!
I shall join you this evening ’round 5:30 for a gin basil drink and kick off vacation. And Lambert…thank-you! Have a great weekend Kat!
My needles are full, but an easy solution is to buy more! lol
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh…that beautiful colorwork. I love the shading of the blues.
oooh, I hope it rains so you can re-arrange – it made a huge difference for how I approached sewing that I had a space for it! also excited for a basil-y cocktail! Have a great weekend, Kat!
We don’t have neighborhood kids. LOL. I’m not ready for school to start again, I like having Dale home all day – he does a lot of stuff while I’m at work!
I can tell that fall is coming because I suddenly have an urge to knit several sweaters, and like you I’m having mixed feelings about the end of summer. I won’t miss the steamy, humid weather, but I like all the daylight!
Since I cannot stop petting the alpaca I bought in OKC Im itching to cast on . Last night it was going to be a cowl. TOday Ive changed my mind: It shall be fingerless gloves
Those are great finds! I especially like the Chapel Cowl. It’s now in my queue.
