Some weeks I am extra happy when Friday arrives and this is one of those weeks! However, it is the last Friday in July… Yeah, how is that even possible!
We did get our trip to Michigan ironed out this week, so there is that!
I am thankful for Senators McCain, Murkowski, and Collins this morning. Well done and bravo to doing the right thing! Now, perhaps some bi-partisanship work can begin. I have my fingers crossed. Perhaps we can flood their in-boxes with some words of thanks, maybe it will start a trend? I am hopeful for adult-like compromise beginning. The “my way or the highway” form of governing is not working for any of us.
Now, how about a couple of links this week?
- Fellow Pittsburgher PAKnitwit has a new pattern out – Wynne. I really love this and have plans to make one with handspun!
- These next items are not new, but showed up in my feed on Ravelry and I was surprised that I had not seen them before… Yoga Shawl and Kingston Tunic both will be great for cooler weather (not that I am trying to rush the arrival of cool weather!)
- Need some quick gratification knitting? NoShow Socks might do the trick!
- And, finally Merel (which is free in the 2 yr old size) and part of a collection of really cute kids sweaters!
That is all I have this week! Have a fantastic weekend and I will see you all back here on Monday!
Happy Friday, indeed! I was dangerously close to happy tears as I wrote my thanks to the three brave and conscientious Republicans. I wish there were more, but those three made all the difference. Let’s hope the spirit of doing the right thing and compromise can continue. I love those NoShow Socks and was initially disappointed that they are toe up, but then I figured if three Republicans can meet the challenge of standing up for what is right, I can surely try the challenge of toe up socks! Have a great weekend!
Wynne is gorgeous!! And the no show socks look like fun too (though, like Bonny, I haven’t done toe-up….). I really love the Yoga Shawl and have had the pattern printed out for over a year or two!! I should get on with it. Have a wonderful weekend!
So, when is your trip to Michigan? You know, because I’m centrally located, and would L O V E to see you!!!
I am also extremely glad that McCain, Murkowski, and Collins did the right thing!
You and those darn links! I LOVE Merel and Miss Audrey who might just LOVE it! And the NoShow Socks? Very cool. And Bonny and Vera, toe-up socks are not hard at all. Not my favorite way of making socks, but, also not impossible, either. 🙂
Have a fabulous weekend!!!
I am so thankful for John McCain and the others. Finally some good news. !!! have a fun weekend and knit on
So much good news! And, as usual, I’ve added a few more items to my Ravelry Favorites. Have a great weekend, Kat!!
Thanks for the link to Wynne!
I am thankful for the outcome last night but am still not really hopeful for any improvement in the level of cooperation or bipartisanship. I think we need a new Congress for there to be any hope.
Those no-show socks made ME think about knitting socks! (but then I saw nine stitches per inch and well….) Very happy with the voting news – helped to balance out all that unprintable nonsense coming from the White House.
Hooray for Friday! I like those No Show Socks – might be just the thing to get me to try toe up.
I share your hope that some adult behavior might occur in the Senate. I still can’t believe that some senators were voting for a bill with the understanding that it would not turn into law! That’s a real leap of faith.
I love that Merel sweater. Very sweet.
wasn’t that healthcare voting crazy and stressful? I’m still recovering and I’m off of twitter for the time being for my sanity. I grew up with rose of sharon bushes (assuming that is the photo…) and it reminds me of my childhood, and tons of bees!!
As always, I love your Friday links. Good for much inspiration . . . and traveling down the rabbit hole. 😉 (Where will your Michigan travels take you? I’m assuming north . . . but please let me know if you’ll be anywhere near so we can grab a coffee. Or something.) XO
