You guys!!! My Lunar Phases is finished!! I just love how this all came together and for once I am entirely enthralled with my color choices! Kudos to Larissa Brown for her knitting ingenuity! This was a true mystery up to the last clue. I had no idea how it would all come together, but I have to tell you – it is stunning, as you can see from these “teaser” photos. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for a big reveal next week!
- The unique join of the sections

- Clue Three
- Water color blending achieved!
- My finish and bind off
If you have not knit this yet, I would encourage you to cast on! Until clue 4 this is very portable, and it is a very rhythmic knit at least by clue – each clue does change a bit in their patterning.
All in all, this was a huge success and I look forward to wearing it!
Now for some links!
First up, today is the last day for the early sign up (with a $50 discount!) for Knit Stars 3.0, which has an amazing line up of teachers! I am still pondering this – have any of you taken any previous Knit Stars? If so, what are your thoughts?
And, the lure of the Gansey grows…
Bloom Sweater… I especially love the version knit with Linen Quill!
I love the sleeve detail in Bright Sweater
And, finally Anything Goes
That is all I have for this week! Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back here on Monday!
I’m really excited to see your mystery knit in its full glory! I love the colors. . . And it is so nice when the project is worth the mystery-ness. 🙂
As for me, I have decided not to join the Knit Stars this time around. It looks wonderful. But I really don’t need one more distraction or one other focus-pull in my life right now. I’m hoping to enjoy the results, though, as I watch the knitting and the projects of others who join in! have a great weekend. XO
I went to hear the woman from The Net Loft in Alaska who talked about the Cordova Gansey project – a really great story. And I told Kym yesterday that I think I will use the $$$ I might have spent on Knit Stars to but some yarn for my Uniform cardigan and another tunic. I’m just rubbish at keeping up with those online classes. But the line up is very tempting. Congrats on your shawl finish.
I do love the colors in your Lunar Phases, and these photos are so intriguing I can’t wait to see the whole wonderful FO. It is indeed an ingenious mystery!
I’ve also thought about Knit Stars, but decided against it. I have a bit too much going on now, and I’m fairly sure there’s nothing I can drop to make time to participate fully. Like Kym, I’m hoping others do participate (maybe you?) so I can enjoy vicariously. Hope you have a great weekend!
Your colors are so yummy. I haven’t been knitting (Lunar Phases or anything else), but have been glued to the spoiler thread for that shawl… it is so unusual and really cool. Your colors are gorgeous!!
I can’t wait to see the big reveal of this pattern. Looking at all the peeks doesn’t really give me any idea of what the final result will look like!
Knit Stars sounds interesting but as I barely have enough time to do a bit of knitting or spinning in ever day, I don’t think it’s practical for me.
gah! I’m excited for you 🙂 Can’t wait to see it in all of its beauty 🙂
wow . Great colors, Great review of the KAL. You almost make me want to try one.
Your color choices for Lunar turned out to be perfect! I’m looking forward to the big reveal. I am taking on nothing new. I barely knit, don’t have enough time to read all I want to or need to, plus I have an assortment of art classes sitting there waiting for my attention. Life is full of too much of a good thing. Aren’t we lucky!? Knit on!
oooh, can’t wait for the Big Reveal! and sigh… the sleeve detail in Anything Goes has me thinking about Another Simple Cardigan!
